Play Station [s]

March 2019. I have begun the photography project “Play Station” as an on site installation with small objects the setting is a pond and surrounding wooded area. Playing is part of making work, bringing these objects outside as a child might do. Something about this action is creating a space for joy, I envy children who bring their stuffed animal, blanket and or favorite toy with them when they leave home, a transitional comforting agent. By bringing my sons childhood plastic animals, my brothers toy car and other objects these tiny replicas echo life past. The close up photos make it seem cinematic, larger than they really are. I am fascinated by animal and object spirit liveliness, how and where things show up in the stream of living.
